when i try to do the cron thing in terminal to my gf ibook i cannot type anything when it ask for the admin password ... when it ask for the password i try to type it in but nothing shows up ... it won't let me type anything ... what is wrong?

Have you tried using a 3rd party program like Onyx or Cocktail?
