when your computer is off and you turn it on does it show the white screen with the apple right away and load into mac os? because that what my ibook does but i just noticed that when my powerbook first turn on it show a grey screen with a little picture of earth blinking and then turn into a grey screen with a little picture of the mac os symbol and a question marking blinking back and forth before the white screen with the apple comes on ... am i missing some files that why there is a question mark and mac os symbol blinking back and forth or is this normal?
Go to System Preferences -> Startup Disk and select the harddisk you want to start up from. That will take care of starting from that disk, without doing a search for a bootable disk when starting your Mac.
