My hard drive died and I had to replace it with a new one, so I reformatted the drive with my jaguar 10.2 disks.

Now, I can't connect to the internet. I can't seem to find an airport (I was using a wireless card to hook up to my brother's airport express). And I can't even connect to the internet by directly attaching the ethernet cable from the cable modem.

Any suggestions on what's happening and how I can connect to the net? Do I have to buy Panther????

No, you don't have to buy Panther.

What are your network settings when your try to connect with Ethernet ?

What is your IP address that you are getting assigned ?

Have you tried resetting your Cable modem/router?

You are probably using WPA for security on the AirportBaseStation, and you need to get the update for the Airport Software on your computer in order to connect. Unless you updated your base station the CD that came with it probably has the update you need.
