my two servers are ****ed up..

my home folder is not in the user folder anymore, but on the hd itself.
there's something wrong with this server update!

my mac seemed to take ages to boot up

imac g4 800 fp 768/80

i mean 5-10 minutes rather than the usual 30-50 seconds

on macosx server?

Thanks for the warning. I'll keep our restore server off 10.3.8 for now.

So far, every update to OS X Server since something like 10.3.5 has broken *something*. 10.3.7 was something with the firewall... I think 10.3.5 hosed my Open Directory... I don't remember any more.

Heh, yeah, I don't run updates on my important Mac OS X servers unless there is a relevant update to security or services that I use. I'm pretty sure my servers are still on 10.3.5. I am busy enough as it is, so I usually wait until I have a free weekend to do major updates.

I've heard too many horror stories to be a button pusher these days..

Hi!

I have only been running it for about 15 minutes on my PowerMac G4, but Haven't noticed any problems so far. Home folder is where it always was.

So far I haven't had any problems with it on my OS X server. It did fix the issue of no sound when you had the 10.3.7 update installed.

10.3.8 broke the firewall again on my B&W G3 router/netboot server. I thought I had fixed it in 10.3.7 by changing the timeout on servermgrd, but apparently not.

ACSA 10.4/10.3, ACTC 10.3, ACHDS 10.3
