strange problem... my site's favicon (http://www.ipodlinks.com cannot be seen by my powerbook running the latest panther but on a friend's mac it works fine.

weirdly it works in FIREFOX

Is this a conspiracy?

What could I try to get it back?

I HAVE thousands of times - before updating to 10.3.8 - after updating

I ran the maintenance scripts yesterday - I've noticed this for a while - some favicons I can see some others I can't - the apple one is there, mine isn't

I don't mean system caches - I mean the browser caches. If you've done that, I'm not sure what to tell you.... I may be able to investigate more later once I can get back on my Mac.

that will clean all the favicons out of your computer that safari has stored. this way just in case some how it stored the default icon as a favicon it will be deleted and you should see it next time you go there

thanks for much for that link - I downloaded it and tried it out - yes it does erase all stored favicons then I reversed changes - they remained erased but able to store new ones - so it now works.

I wish I knew why these things happen tho' it was driving me nuts for weeks!!

THANKS AGAIN
