I'm new to the command line, but I learn pretty quickly. I've already gotten accustomed to using the terminal for ftp (very useful), lynx, fetchmail and bitchx. I want to learn more, but a lot of the sites I'm getting on google are pretty crappy. Any online sources you guys recommend?

Another thing you can do is create a totally unprivledged user and long into that account for playing around; that way you can't do anything that can mess up your system.

I've learned a whole lot from the Advanced Bash-Scripting Guide. "Advanced" may make it sound scary, but it starts very basic, and is an excellent resource. Even if you aren't interested in writing scripts just yet, you probably will be at one point (because that's one of the most powerful aspects of the CLI), and the guide also has sections about how to use many of the most common CLI programs.
