I've got an ibook with a 30 gig drive. When I got it, it had something like 13 gigs used up. Looking around, I see stuff like the Classic OS and a bunch of other useless stuff like languages, tons of stuff in library etc.
What is the best way to go about cleasning this stuff out?
I've searched around for tips, but haven't seen any help
. . . . . please help

The best way to clear out unnecessary things is to start from scratch - back up whatever documents and other data you've created so far, and do a complete clean install. Choose "customize" during the install process, and only check off those things you want to include.
Big-space takers that you should consider not installing if you don't use them/dont plan on using them include:
-Garage Band
-iDVD
-extra languages
-X11
-Developer Tools
-other demo/free software included with your iBook
All those things are good and potentially very useful, but if you're really concerned about space and don't want them/need them, you can definitely get rid of them. Oh - and not all of those were necessarily installed - that just depends what came with your iBook and how the initial installation worked.
fyi - Classic does not take up that much room (100MB or so iirc) so if you think there's ever a chance of you having to run a Classic-only application I'd suggest keeping it.

You must not have searched very well as there's lots on this. Even just a few days ago, there was threads on this.
Delocalizer is a great app for clearing out unwanted language packs. You can trash the Classic folders if you won't need any OS9-type stuff. Clearing our unneeded printer drivers can save a bunch of space. So can deleting apps you might not need or want (iDVD, for example).
I'd leave library alone as you could cause more problems than save by messing with it.
And if all else fails, get an external hard drive or an iPod. Prices for externals are pretty low for the size you can get.

The best way to delete Apps like iDVD and others is to do a seach for them so you can find everything associated with the app itself.

Asian fonts and print drivers you don't use. hundreds of megs off the system. If you are asian or have lots of printers or plan on buying a new one before you install the next OS X, concider keeping them of course. Just some ideas.

Make sure that you install the BSD tools though. Lots of useful apps depend on it, and it only takes up 100 MB or so. (Maybe 200 if I'm wrong.)

If you delete the localizations, does it remove the fonts as well? I'm interested in keeping my web pages displaying correctly, even if I can't read them.

No, I believe it only deletes the localizations from the apps.
