i've accidentally replaced an important file with a "dud". i've tried "undo" but to no avail. is there any way i can reverse this transaction? can journaling help? but how?
please help...anyone!
what app did the file belong to ? some (eg Word) do have an option for auto backup... so as long as you've not edited the file since replacing you may have the backup available.
most though... unless you've got a back up... it's gone
If you have overwritten a personal file and you have no backup, that file is as good as gone. If, on the other hand, you have overwritten a system file, you will be able to replace that. At worst, you'll simply need to reinstall the OS.
