i've had a dialog box appear which says 'internet connect. waiting for ppp termination...' whenever my ibook is asleep and i, say, unplug my mouse. this is no major drama as it only happened when it was asleep and i unplugged a usb connection - the dialog box would appear, do its thing, then disappear again. the ibook would then go back to sleep (whether the screen was open or shut).

the weird thing is that it did the same thing this afternoon when i was making a coffee. it was shut and had been asleep for a couple of hours. i didn't touch the ibook, didn't even go near it, and probably wouldn't have noticed if i hadn't heard the cd drive checking for a disk.

with the usb-related wakeup i know when it's happening at least and have no real issue with (even though i have no idea why unplugging a mouse or printer should bring up an internet connect dialog), but this unprompted waking up is strange, and i'm not completely happy about it.

i've just unchecked the 'connect automatically when needed' box on my ppp options so maybe this'll stop it, but can anyone tell me why it was happening in the first place? particularly when the puter is doing it to itself while ostensibly asleep?

cheers!
