Hello experts :-)

I bought a mini mac and I wanted to know if it's possible to use the install Panther dvd from it to install Panther on my "old" G5 1.8 mono directly ?
Has someone do it ?
Many thanks!

You shouldn't have a problem. As long as the version that came with the mini isn't an earlier version than what was supplied with the G5 when it was release. In other words...it should work just fine

In general, I would say that this is illegal. However, with the G5s, Apple offered a "free" upgrade path to Panther--that you really should have taken. So in this case, I don't have a problem with it. It will work fine.

Absolutely!
I took and BOUGHT the update to Panther for my Mono G5.
But as I want to reinstall Panther on my G5 from scratch and as I want to do to that quickly, I asked if I could use the the install-DVD from mini mac without compatibility problems.
It seems that all should be ok.
Many thanks for yours answers.
