If I access a ftp server (fetch) and download pdf files to my desktop or hard drive they want to auto open in whatever program my default viewer is as soon as the download finishes. This is a real pain when there is 15 or 20 pdf's I have to grab. Is there a way to not have files auto open like that? I have tried turning off the "open safe files" in Safari as well as swiching the default pdf reader.

You would have to have a look at the preferences of Fetch to turn off that feature.

It still wouldn't hurt to check the fetch preferences. If you can make it stop in fetch by changing the preferences in fetch, then that is at least a step in the right direction. I wouldn't write it off because it happens in two places. There's the possibility it's a coincidence.

This is not normal behavior, and I bet you are only really seeing this in Fetch.
