Hello, I'm a mac newbie so please cut me some slack here.
Q1: My problem is this, I had my G4 Power Mac running 10.3.8 and 9.0.4, they are installed on the same drive in the same partition. The whole 20 gig drive is one big partition and all the OS9 folders have (OS9) attached to the name. I booted back into OS9 last night and installed the 9.1 and 9.2.1 upgrades. Now how do I get this thing to boot back to OS X?
Q2: Can I re-partition the Macintosh HD into two drives, move all the OS9 folders into that new partition and NOT screw everything up? Moving system folders around is a no-no in the Windows world I'm used to but so far I get the impression that the Mac is more forgiving of such things due to the lack of a registry.
Thanks for any help.
Aaron

Apple Menu > Control Panel > Startup Disk
(sorry, that might not be literal, my os 9 knowledge is slowly fading...)
as for the partitioning thing, yeah...the os 9 system is self-contained in 'System Folder'. That's the only folder it really needs to boot. Of course, you'll want to copy over your os 9 applications folder and whatnot too.

Q1 has already been answered.
As for Q2: You can put OS9 and OSX on different partitions, if the machine can boot into OS9. In fact, I recommend this for two reasons. One is just aesthetic; the two filesystems will look a bit cleaner. However, there's a more practical reason: you can then switch between the operating systems just by holding down Option when you boot.

If you're only using Mac OS 9 when you're booted into it, then a separate partition is fine. But if you're using it in Classic mode, having it on a separate partition of your boot drive is not advisable, since your drive will have to constantly skip back and forth between the two partition regions.
