Running OS X 10.3.8 here on my 1GHz 12" PowerBook, and I've been experiencing some problems...
Okay, the first problem I'm having is that the scrollwheel speed settings for my Logitech mouse isn't being saved properly. If I leave it plugged into the USB port, it's fine. But let's say I have to travel somewhere with my PowerBook and I need to unplug my mouse for storage. The next time I plug it in it forgets the scrollwheel speed setting. The sensitivity is fine, but I have to keep resetting my scrollwheel setting everytime I plug it in. Any ideas what I can do about this? I've tried looking everywhere for the mouse preference file but haven't been able to find it, thinking maybe I can simply delete that so it rebuilds itself. I don't have anything else installed, not even the Logitech Control Center (which sucks btw), so we're only talking about the Keyboard & Mouse preference pane here.
The second problem I'm having is simple. When I open Apple System Profiler and go to the Extensions portion of the sidebar menu... the spinning beachball of death shows up and the profiler simply crashes. I've tried restarting and opening Profiler numerous times, but it's always the same result. Should I be concerned that I can't view my Extensions, even though everything else runs fine? What can I do to fix it? I suppose I should try repairing permissions...
