i've never seen this before.
on my friend's ibook (800mhz g3, 10.3.8), repair permissions gets stuck (runs like crazy, but we can see it's stuck on imovie language files).

anyone ever experienced this?
guess we could uninstall imovie, reinstall it.

just wanted any other ideas/info!!

Try booting off of a Panther disk and using Disk Utility that way.

Depending on which language files it is having trouble with, you could just go into the iMovie package and delete them. They take up rather a lot of room anyway, and you only need the English ones (or to generalise, one only needs one language represented there ).

Repair the disk, then repair permissions.
