What does this mean?

Yesterday I tried unsuccessfully to repair a G4 10.2.8 disk from an external 10.3.8 system on a firewire disk. The error message is shown below - the 10.2.8 disk "fla3000" has only one volume.

Then I booted from the G4 with the original software installation disk and ran it's disk utility which didn't find any problems with the disk.

Why?

Repairing disk for “FLA3000”
Checking HFS Plus volume.
Checking Extents Overflow file.
Checking Catalog file.
Checking multi-linked files.
Checking Catalog hierarchy.
Invalid directory item count
(It should be 32 instead of 31)
Checking volume bitmap.
Checking volume information.
Repairing volume.
The volume FLA3000 was repaired successfully.

Repair attempted on 2 volumes
1 HFS volume repaired
1 volume could not be repaired

I don't see a discrepancy... the newer version of the software found problems that the older piece of software didn't know to look for.

ACSA 10.4/10.3, ACTC 10.3, ACHDS 10.3
