I recently bought a MicFlex USB Mike for my G5 cause the old Apple Mikes won't work (no Mic-In, just Line-In). It seems to have a nie quality (though still worse than old Apple microphones that came with the colored iMac G3. They are stunning.)
My Netfone (by Haxial.com, now integrated into KDX) shows as a Input Source I can choose: C-MEDIA USB HEADPHONE SET. And works — BUT my partners listen to me with a very annoying tickling sound, like 5 times per second. In iChat it's not there, in Skype neither but since both apps have a lot of distortion and echo cancelling technology built-in we dunno if this fixes it.
Garageband recordings are perfect, so it is not the mike itself nor the hardware around.
Unfortunately Netfone is still the one and only crossplatform voice conferencing app and we love to use it. iChat has an awful sound and like in Skype (which crashes and has several other bugs) you cannot determine the Rate. In netfone we can talk with 44.1khz if we want. Listen to iChat after that and you'll never use it again.
ANY tips are welcome: different driver? Other software (crossplatform necessary!) I didn't know? Ideas?
