Need help to kill a Process !

hi

i installed Darwins streaming server on my mac-osx and i now want to kill the process as i have removed the darwin streamingserver files but when i go into Terminal and go kill process i get Operation not permitted, please help, thanks.

Have you restarted?

Can you kill it via "Activity Monitor"?

yeah i restarted my mac, should i not have?, where can i fine "Activity Monitor"

Is this what you're doing in Terminal?

1) Type top and hit the return key;

2) Determine the name of the process and take note of the number to the left;

3) hit control-c to stop Top;

4) type kill [process number] and hit return.

You might also want to explore the sudo command prior to typing kill, e.g. sudo kill [process number].
