Hi all-

I just received my iMac G5 17" running a (German) 10.3.8. I imported my user profile from my Powerbook G4 12" using trhe system assistent - everything fine except a very noisy fan and:

I do have a "Battery charded" symbol in my title bar left from the time display. Of course this is helpful on my Powerbook, but annoys on the iMac. If I click it I get the message "Keine Batterie vorhanden", German for "No battery installed".

How do I get rid of this? I didn't find a prederence to uncheck anywhere.

Your help is appreciated as always.

Under Preferences > Energy Saver > you'll see an option to put the battery icon in the menu bar or not. Just click or unclick as needed.

Command click drag it off worked - thanks!

The problem was that on the iMac the option to click it off in the energy saver panel is not present, whereas it is in the Powerbook.

Thanks guys!
