So I know that Apple gives us Student Developers (with the yearly $99 fee), a copy of the new OS. How soon do you think I would get my copy of Tiger?

Although Students get some of the developer mailings, they do not get them all, nor do they get access to seeds. You're not likely to see Tiger until June or July if you wait for the mailing.

This is why it's not a good idea to get ADC Student membership if you're only in it for the mailings. The student discount is always cheaper and faster for released software, and it is extremely rare that Students are given development seeds. During the years that I had ADC Student, I only ever received one thing from the seeds that I couldn't have gotten elsewhere: OSX 10.0DP4. I'll grant that this was one heck of an exception, but it is the only exception I ever saw in my time there.

This is not to say that ADC Student memberships aren't a good tool for developers and aspiring developers. On the contrary, they're a wonderful tool. However, make sure you know what you're going to use it for.

I'm thinking we'll see them in the June mailing. Of course, the May mailer would be nice, but I'm not expecting it. Honestly, that's fine by me though. By the time I get my copy, 10.4.1 should be out so I won't have to worry about any show-stoppers.

In any event, I'd expect it within 2 months.

Millenium: I was not talking about the seeds, I was talking about the final release. I did not get into the Developer program just for the mailing though.
Anyway, I was just wondering when do we get the final release, and if I want to wait too long before I buy my copy.
Thanks for your replies!

Out of curiosity, have the ADC Premier and Select members been given the GM download yet? (It seems strange to have a release imminent without any screenshots or first hand accounts at all practically).

Yes, my May guess is a bit speculative, but May is not too unlikely. Here is some relevant bits I saw in another forum.
Thank you for your interest in Mac OS X v10.4 Tiger.

The ADC Student Membership includes released versions of system software, tools, documentation, and sample code, so you can be assured that if your Student membership is active when Tiger ships, you will receive a copy in your monthly developer mailing. However, cannot confirm when exactly this will be shipped to you at this moment in time.

Prior to that, we hope that you are learning about Tiger's powerful development technologies
from the Tiger Developer Overview Series at:

We thank you for your continued support of Apple technologies. Please let me know if you have any questions or need further assistance.

Best regards,

Well, that is good news. At least it seems like they're making every effort to get this out to us in a timely manner. Like I said above, I'm not going to be mad if I don't recieve it in May, but it'd be nice.
