Just wondering if anyone is more inclined to purchase via the Apple store (vs. amazon, with the savings) just to get the accompanying online seminar that Apple will offer. My order is through amazon, at the moment, and I haven't looked that carefully at what Apple is offering.

I'm just wondering...

It's probably geared toward non-power users more but there could be something interesting in it. I ordered when it was first announced so I thought I'd try the session out, as much for my s/o as she's just learning the ropes with Macs and I thought it would help her with Tiger insomuch as it was free.

I would venture to guess it is worth it, but is it worth the $35 savings from Amazon (or whatever)...that is up to you!

Now that I think about it, my daughters might like the seminar. they're not nearly as well-versed as I am with various aspects of the OS. One of my kids is pretty computer literate and she'd probably like the seminar.

But -- money is money...

If I was in the US right now, I'd probably go with the cheaper deal. But this way I'm assured of getting it from Apple in a timely manner.

Personally I wouldn't want to watch a video by Apple marketing telling me why Tiger is new and exciting.

I went for the seminar option so my parents can watch it and hopefully pick something up...transferring them to a new OS is going to be hard enough as it is!

I ordered from the edu store, so I get the best of both worlds: price and seminar. It sounds like it might be more than just Apple Marketing espousing the greatness of the OS. After all, there are already lots of videos and screenshots from the PR people on Apple's website. From the description of the seminar it sounds like the engineers will be talking which might be kind of cool. I'm always learning little hints on these forums and I'm pretty savvy with Panther, be they little known features or keyboard shortcuts, so I'm sure there are some new gems in Tiger and I would love to find out early on to make the most of my experience. If nothing else, it's always fun to hear from the people who did the work.

Not yet - I reckon it'll come either WITH your copy of Tiger from Apple, or shortly beforehand via email...
