Hi all... quick question...

The last 3 times I purchased software... the cd/dvd's ended up getting scratched beyond belief (thanks in part to my son (2 years old) and his new puppy...

So I pre-ordered tiger, however, was wondering If you can make dvd backups of the source dvd, in case it gets scratched?

Thanks in advance.

Yes, it can be done.

However, would it not be easier just to use jewel cases and high shelves?

I just backed up my Tiger DVD using a 12-inch PB (with Superdrive) and Toast 6 Titanium. Make sure you have about 5 gigs of free space on your hard drive because Toast has to copy the whole DVD to a hiolding place so that you can insert a blank DVD to copy it onto. Let Toast verify the DVD as well. Good luck.

It's pretty use. In Toast, insert the source CD, select "copy disk" or something. Hit burn.

It will copy the contents to your HD, then ask you to insert a blank DVD, then will burn it. All auotmatically.
