Hi there,
I am having a problem with one of the G5s at work. it will not start up. When I start the machine it gets to the boot screen. It flashes on the screen for a second then disappears. About 15 seconds later the boot screen re-appears but it is blank (just the silvery box with the apple logo). I can leave it like this for hours and nothing changes. If I do a safe boot the computer starts up fine.
Does anyone have any ideas how to resolve this issue.
I am running a 2.5 DP G5 with 4GB of RAM running 10.3.8 with a Kona II card installed.

pull the kona card and try to boot up normally.
If not, then start pulling RAM.
Also boot from the hardware test disc and run some diagnostics.

I will try to pull the Kona Card out and see what happens. Unfort. I am at work so we don't really have a screwdriver or anything. It seems odd the memory would go bad since it was from Apple, but also a possibility. If it was the memory though, would the computer start in safe mode? Also if it was the Kona card I think it is odd that this problem would show up just now after having the computer for 3 months.
I have run the hardware test disc and also checked permissions and repaired the disc. Nothing found anything wrong.
