I was running a Classic-based program and then it suddenly crashed and when I rebooted it couldn't find Classic (OS 9) anymore!
I tried to sift through the software CDs which came w my Jaguar-based iBook and couldn't find it...
Thanks in advance.

What's the exact error message it gave you?

Machine's screen went grey and asked me to hold the power button for a few seconds to restart. Then when it rebooted, I couldn't run Classic anymore, saying that it cannot find the application.

Look in /System/Library/CoreServices and see if you see an application named "Classic Startup.app".
See if it will launch when you double-click it.

Go to System Preferences -> Classic and make sure your OS 9 system folder is selected.

Thanks... now it reads: "No classic system folder. You do not have a version of Mac OS 9 installed that supports Classic. Install Mac OS 9.1 or later."
The only option in the dialog box that could conceivably be clicked is "Macintosh HD". But then again, I can't click on that since it's in grey.
Thanks again!

Sounds like your OS 9 installation got buggered.
Did your iBook come with OS X and Classic preinstalled, or did it originally come with OS 9 and you upgraded it to OS X after the fact?

It came with both OS X + Classic... Any place I could locate Classic on the installation or restore software discs and just somehow just reinstall this neatly?
Thanks again....

Insert the Software Restore disc (if there's more than one, go through each one of them and do this until you find the right one). Double-click its icon on the Desktop, type Command-Shift-G, and type ".images" without the quotes, but with the dot in front. You should see a bunch of disk images, one of which should be for OS 9.
