In a finder window, I'm taking a file, and dropping it from one folder to another. Their weird thing is it's saying that that file is already there. Which is was not!

It's like, maybe putting it there, and then a nanosecond later, putting it there again, hence the already there dialogue box. I can't figure this out, and have never seen it before. any ideas appreciated. thanks!

Then just tell it to replace the file. If we can't ask you to do any checking, I don't know what else you want.

Instead of moving it, try dropping a copy there. I've seen this happen is now and then it seems the file will disappear on me.

Finder = buggy.

Just to be clear, are we discussing Panther or Tiger in this thread?
