I think I posted this in the wrong forum before, hopefully some can help me here!

I can't figure out how to get the display to mirror on a TV in OS X. I'm using a beige G3 with the stock Personality A/V card. I got it to work fine in OS 9 with the control strip, but I can't figure this out. I found something on Apple's website suggesting the card mirrors all the time, that isn't true, I don't think. Also, is there an OS X replacement for "Apple Video Player?"

I don't think OSX actually supports the A/V Personality card, unfortunately. I never had one for my Beige G3, but I seem to remember a huge stink being raised about this back in the 10.0 days.

OS X doesn't support the card for video out. Audio out works though as I used it for sound out until I got my MDD.

Oh wow, that's too bad. Does anyone know if it still supports the video in? And if so, is there a nice free app to replace Apple Video Player? I found some shareware, but I don't want to drop $20 when starting up in OS 9 is cheaper.

No, video in isn't supported under OS X, either. I read somewhere that an Apple engineer commented that Beige G3 owners (which includes me) were lucky to have any sound at all, nevermind all the other features.

That said, if you to go back to OS 8.5 or 9 you everything should work fine.
