Hey guys...

I just picked up a new iBook this week and before I go ahead and get all my info and apps installed I wanted to know if it will be ok to upgrade to tiger from 10.3.9 or if a complete fresh install is the way to go?

If complete install then I could just back up to usb and clean install and I should be set.

Anyway, any reconmendations you guys have for the transition would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers,

Ryan

I upgraded 2 TiPowerbooks so far, and both went fine.

That being said, if you have been experiencing any strangeness or instability in your current install, probably an archive and install would be the option to pick. (this saves your home folder and apps along with most application prefs and settings, but installs a clean version of the system to work with)

If you use any haxies or low level system mods you probably want to disable them before installing the new system version.

If you just purchased your Powerbook and feel like waiting a few more days, just do an erase and install and start fresh with Tiger.
