I have an external HD hooked up and I want to save all my photos to that. Is there a way to set Iphoto to read the photos from the external HD? Whenever i import the photos from the external HD it saves them to the internal HD and then when I save them to the external and delete them from the internal they become deleted from iphoto. Please help.

Hold down the option key when starting iPhoto this will allow you choose a new iPhoto library or create a new one in a diffrent location (i.e on your enternal).

iPhoto will still however copy files into its own file structure and will not link to the originals.

Not sure if this can help, but a cool program is iPhoto Library Manager (http://homepage.mac.com/bwebster/iph...ymanager.html). Oh, and don't mean to rain on your parade, but this should be in the Applications forum.
