Well since Macromedia is being bought out by Adobe... and we'll probably all get stuck with Illustrator anyway, this is kinda moot but whatever. I downloaded the trial of Illustrator CS, and I have to say, I've got mixed feelings. I love the way that it recognizes the pressure of my tablet (Not sure if newer version of FreeHand do) that said, I not getting a hang of the way Adobe expects you to edit your paths after they are drawn... Not to mention the brush keeps destroying my previous paths after I start drawing... this is the first time I've ever used Illustrator, though I'm decently proficient with the copy of FreeHand 9 I own.

So, yah, all you who use both, throw your hats in...

I've not used Freehand much, but I had the same troubles with it as far as drawing went.

With illustrator, do this, put a point down, then put your next point down, click and drag your handle out, and then hold down the spacebar. it lets you move the point from its handle. This is the key to drawing in Illustrator. The other key part is converting points to corners and curves. If you do those two things, you can draw.

OK... I swear... I thought I was in the software forum.... I know this is like the third time I've done this recently... I think maybe I'll just stop making new topics... or something... if a mod could move this to the software forum where I could hang my head in shame that'd be just peachy...

I'll try the space bar thing...
