Hi everyone,
One of the gripes I had about 10.0-10.3 was that the built-in CD/DVD burning function always took so long.
As an example, with 10.3, if I wanted to burn a CD, the following would happen:
1. I'd drop in a blank CD and it would show up as a blank CD on the Desktop.
2. I'd drag all the files onto the CD that I wanted to burn. The OS would then COPY all the files to the CD, which would take some time if there were many files.
3. I would then burn the CD and it would then take however much more time to BURN the CD.
As a counterpoint, in Windows, if I drop in a blank CD and copy files to it, Windows puts in temporary placeholders, which takes seconds rather than minutes. It then copies the files to the CD as it's burning it. Granted, Windows doesn't have built-in DVD burning functionality but that's a moot point.
Has CD/DVD burning been improved in 10.4 so that I don't have to wait for the files to copy THEN burn?
