Ok,

I'm not happy with tiger...

I've spent a long time preparing, completely had a nice fresh reformat on my disk and all the bells and whistles, a nice clean install of tiger

My rev c 17" PB locks up completely when I try to do anything that I guess might be related to core image

like dragging a widget onto dashboard (that ripple effect), or looking at the RSS screensaver in system preferences

I've run every kind of diagnostic known to man and everything should be fine

by lockup i mean i can't do anything except hold the powerbutton down to turn of my computer...

I have the 128 MB video ram option radeon 9700 as the video card...

i've tried everything, including reinstalling the OS a couple times, its just a no go

I don't know what to try anymore

does anyone have any suggestions

as is i'm just going to have to install panther again untill apple can resolve this kind of problem

i don't think there's any kind of excuse for this kind of poor performance....i literaly booted up the first time and wanted to play around with dashboard and crashed within the first 2 minutes of messing around with Tiger and its been a nightmare ever since

arrghh

hmmm...

I have a Rev A 17" PB with a gig of ram and I can't even get Tiger to install. I've tried an upgrade with a few custom selections and it does its install thing and then after 10 minutes or so I end up with a "There were problems with the upgrade." and no install. I tried an upgrade with all standard options. Same thing. I'm pissed.
