I'd like to share something...

With all the bug reporting about Tiger here on MacNN, I have to admit I had myself talked into waiting.

But I happened to be in SF last night and decided to go to the Apple Store. I got caught up in the moment and bought a copy.

Hesitating a moment, I then realized the worst that could happen wouldn't be so bad right now. So I popped in the DVD and did the Archive and Install option. I let it crank away at verifying the DVD, HD, and copy over all the files. It took all of 30 minutes. Logged back in as normal.

All is well! Played with it all night. Mail and Safari are working great. I can see I'll be adicted to Spotlight very quickly. Not sure if I'll use Dashboard all that much -- but it'll be there in the background -- I guess that's the point.

Anyways, I just wanted to report on a good experience.

Another good experience here.
I installed Tiger on both my Powerbook and my trusty old G4 without any problem. So far everything works. I only had to reinstall my Wacom Intuos 3 drivers on the G4. Spotlight will definitely change the way I use OS X. I like Dashbord since I use the calculator a lot, so it quicker. Automator is a little bit shaky but very powerful, I have to get used to that tool.
Even if Tiger and all it's power really start to show how old and slow my G4 is (HD H.264 files plays at 5 frams a second and no fancy core image stuff), I noticed a major speed increase while using iPhoto.
I haven't tested everything, but so far I'm very pleased with Tiger.

I noticed something else but I don't know if it was in previous versions of OS X. If you press option while selecting text, you can do kind of a marquee selection. Neat!

I love it as well. I had one minor glitch with my user account and had to create another user for myself, but after all that, it's been a joy so far. I LOVE spotlight.
