Whoa, just saw this. Having actually shelled out for a real Pro key, I'd like to at least keep 6.5.2 around for the copy/paste functionality. Will this stick around if I upgrade, and what (if anything) is required in the event this isn't the case? I figure I can back up the app bundle and it's plist; is there anything I'm missing?
If engineers ruled the world, the trains might not run on time, but they'd go really fast, and when they derailed, would explode and kill thousands!

You can keep the old QuickTime 6 Player around for all the pro functionality. To do so you must move it out of the Applications folder and store in a safe place before updating.
