Are there any online instructions or does anyone know how to go about making a widget?
i hate project managers.

Straight from the source: http://developer.apple.com/macosx/dashboard.html

You'll need knowledge of xhtml/css/javascript mainly. overall, if you're comfortable with web development, you should have no problem making a widget.
