Hi there,

I recently upgraded from Panther to Tiger and I am pretty happy with most of the improvements. One of the things I was really looking forward to was Spotlight's ability to search my iCal events (previous iCal searches only searched the name of the event, not the comments/notes).

I can easily search for keywords in the comments/notes and the event shows up in the Spotlight search. But, unlike other spotlight results that go right to the file/folder/etc., clicking an iCal event will open iCal if it's not already running but does not go to the event. If iCal is already running, it does not switch to iCal (and obviously doesn't go to the event, either).

I did an archive and install of Tiger, if that is important. All other Spotlight results seem to work as expected.

Any suggestions?

Hmmm, it seems to work for me, if I understand your problem correctly....

What doesn't work so well is date searches for iCal events - it seems they don't work with repeated events. Searching for 'date:next week' or 'date:next month' won't return anything for me even though I have events set to repeat every week.
