I have an external firewire drive. The Classic Driver I have for it is demanding I Install Quicktime 6.0.3. I Thought I had it since I got my copy of system 9 from the apple web site, so after finding it in my system 9 extension Folder it shows I have Quicktime 5.0.2, a bit of a surprise. So having done a search on the Apple site for Quicktime 6.0.3 the search ended on this page http://www.apple.com/support/downloa...603formac.html

but hey there is nothing there to download, so where is it please ?

See the little blue arrow next to file size? Click that.

Uh, and that updater will only update from 6.0 not 5.0.3.

I think you'll be able to install a later version than 6.0.3 for OS9.

It's strange, I cannot find any link to classic QT 6. Searched Apple high and low, and the only QT 6 link I could find was for the OS X version. Apple's older software page lists Quicktime through QT 5 but not 6. Odd.

The Panther Install CDs have it. I think it was on the 3rd CD.

That would be the OS X version. He wants the classic version.

No, there is a separate installer on the 3rd Panther CD for the QuickTime 6.0.3 for OS 9.

The path is /Mac OS X Install Disc 3/Packages/QuickTime Installer

Oh, sorry I misunderstood you. I'm surprised Apple would have included a classic QT installer on a Panther disc.

They included it because Classic in Panther required QuickTime 6.x to function properly. QuickTime 5 was sufficient pre-Panther.
