How to get desktop background to stop changing

Hey all,
I have a bizarre problem with my desktop background changing on me. For a while, I had it set to automatically switch randomly every 5 minutes. That option's since been turned off (I keep checking too), but it keeps changing around. I have shapeshifter installed, but that's off. What could be causing this?

Try turning the auto-changing back on, closing system prefs, and then shutting it back off. Then restart. See if that helps.
