Being someone who is looking to jump into the Mac world, I have some basic questions that I'll probably be asking.
One of those is, does Tiger support Virtual desktops? On my PC with either a ATI or Nvidia card, I could map listk <CTRL-NUM1> through <CTRL-NUM4> each containing their own virtual desktops with my apps running and not minimized.
This always works out great for when you don't have dual monitors, and even better when you do.
Thanks!

There are third party apps that do it.
I used to like them.
But honestly, ever since expose was introduced, I never use virtual desktops anymore--but that's me.

especially ones with political tripe in them.

Codetek's Virtual Desktop is very slick. I use it on my iBook all the time.

I created multiple users without passwords for the same effect.

Theres an app called Desktop Manager - just updated for 10.4, and an app called Virtue (not updated for 10.4 yet).
Virtue was based on Desktop Manager.
For 10.4, Desktop Manager is best at the moment.

You desktops
http://www.yousoftware.com/desktops/
tried desktop manager. Good but low in features and buggy. ( i sent him some bugs 6 months ago and they have yet to be fixed.
codetek's VD is good. has applescript support. but is the slowest on screen redraws. I own codetek's and you's
i like you's the best.

Can you's pager be detached from the menu?
If so, it looks good, I like the actual window contents in the pager rather than just the outline that you get in Virtual Desktop.

Put in another vote for Desktop Manager. I simply love that program, can't be without it. Thanks, RevEvs, for alerting me to the fact that he's updated it for 10.4.
