Hello,
I can't get Tiger to work with any of my FTP clients. Tried the latest Transmit 3.1.1. on and off passive. Gives me blank on the remote side. Tried RBrowserLite, tried FireFTP, tried Dreamweaver. Nothing works and actually shows me my remote files. This was a clean install of everything. Any ideas?
Thanks

Transmit is working for me. Have you checked your firewall settings to make sure that port 21 is open?

Update: Yes, port 21 is open(FTP Access is checked under Firewall). But when I completely turn off the Firewall every works right. So, I guess need to figure what in the Firewall is blocking Transmit.

Maybe Transmit isn't using port 21.

Make sure you aren't using blocking UDP access in the Firewall settings also.

Yeah, that option is unchecked too. I just sent a transcript to the guys at Panic and see if they can help.

Panic guy says he thinks it's a bug in the Tiger firewall.
There also are a few more people with this same issue over on the Apple boards.

So... was there ever a solution? I just went from 10.2 to 10.4 with my new iMac and am having to turn "Firewall Off" to connect to work. ("Firewall On" with "FTP Access" checked still times me out - so "Firewall Off" is my only option.) What's "Firewall On" blocking that causes FTP to timeout? Can I manually open a port and designate a number so that it continues to work with "Firewall On"?
Thanks,
BD
