Hi,

I have a 12 inch 1.5GHz Powerbook G4 with 1.25GB RAM and have recently installed a clean (erase and install) installation of Tiger. I don't know if it's just my computer, but Expose seems really unsmooth compared to Mac OS 10.3.9 even with two windows (iTunes and Safari), and under Reduced mode is very unbareable (with two windows). As a side note, the Genie Effect when minimizing is also not as smooth as in OS 10.3.9. All this is with close to 0% CPU Usage. Is anyone else having the same problem, or is it just me? Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

I've got a 15" with 512MB RAM, and I can't tell any difference. Have you tried another account (assuming you restored from a backup) to see if the problem might be in your library?

I noticed the same behavior as MGLXP when I first installed Tiger. Let your powerbook run unused for awhile. Once spotlight is done building it's index, it'll be snappy again.

My Exposé is about the same speed-wise, but it also scales window pixels better (i.e. text is easier to read) in Exposé mode, so I'd say it's better than Panther.

The genie effect is definitely faster and smoother.

Definitely don't use your machine for anything besides browsing the Internet until Spotlight's finished its initial indexing.
