Speech recognition of sub-menus (Panther)

I've been experimenting with utilizing Panthers built-in speech recognition in my everyday computing tasks.

The only real problem that I'm having is using sub-menus.

I can say the name of the menu item, but items within a sub-menu do not seem to respond...

Is this normal?
