Right, I can't figure this out. In Panther, if you viewed a music video from http://music.channel.aol.com you could go to Safari/Activity, find the hidden download address and just copy and paste into the Safari download bar. At the same time, QT movies were put into a temp folder on the drive.

Since QT Pro now allows you to save movies from the web, it seems as if Apple has switched off the functionality that Safari had and they have hidden the temp files very well!!

Any ideas as to where the temp files are? I might just have to get QT Pro (which I guess is the point)

QT Pro always had that functionality. And are sure you going to the right hidden folder path?

The QuickTime Web Plugin in 10.4 Tiger now stores cached movies in:

~/Library/Caches/QuickTime/Downloads/

They are stored in a .qtch format, which appears to be an encrypted format.

As far as I'm aware, no one knows how to decrypt this format yet.
