You did a search, right? Because this has been covered in other threads. When you enter London, hit Enter and it'll give you the option to choose which London.

not to worry - didn't realise that pressing enter doesn't 'finish' the dialog it prompts the widget to look it up.
And yes I searched, unfortunately search results are often worse than manually sifting through threads - hence the post.
What a delight to actually see a sun image rather than a moon

It will be more graceful if the weather source come from BBC weather, so we can have more place options, e.g., Uxbridge, Surrey, etc.

Yes. ive noticed many widgets are very US specific. And.. I also had the same problem with the weather Widget. It isnt clear how to use it, and for ages it was giving me the wrong weather, cos it was telling me the weather for London in some obscure corner of the US instead of UK..

The worst thing about having a failing memory is..... no, it's gone.

If you search by the name of the actual weather station that supplies the forecast for the place it will (probably) find it. E.g. Wittering for Peterborough. How you find out what the name of that weather station is I don't know, but the BBC weather site gives the long/lat co-ordinates for it.
