I usually connect to my work's server through Windows just by going to "My Network Places" > "Add a network place" and the address is "http://www.myworksdomain.com/". And when I double-click it in My Network Places, it prompts me for my username and password.
I just got new PowerMac a few days ago and I couldn't connect to my work's server! I did Finder > Go > Connect to server... and I tried "http://www.myworksdomain.com/", "afp://myworksdomain.com/", "smb://myworksdomain.com" and a combination of others and they all gave me an error message. Unforutnatley, I have no idea how my work's server is set up, just the address and the username/pw. Can anyone suggest some help? Thanks!

if you connect to it in Windows using "http://...", it should be a WebDAV server. In Mac OS X, you have to enter "http://..." for WebDAV servers, too. What error message are you getting when you enter the "http://..." address?

try:
smb://www.myworksdomain.com/
or
smb://www.myworksdomain.com/<share name>
One that works on my machine, for example, is:
smb://ensvm124.enimo.primo/zeropiu
where "zeropiu" is the share name, and the rest is the machine name.
Typically, tiger will ask you for credentials to access the resource: put in the machine name for Domain, and username & pwd to access the data on the machine.
On windows, it probably does not ask you for authentication, as you would have logged on to your workstation using your domain credentials already, and they get transmitted automatically from one windoz to another.
Also, make sure your firewall is not blocking any traffic to & from windows machines.
Hope it helps.

The message I get is: "You cannot connect to this server because it cannot be found on the network. Try again later or try a different URL." I can't seem to get Goliath or Remote Desktop to work either. I've been accessing it with Virtual PC, but there's gotta be an easier way.

That is another I experienced after upgrading to Tiger: I can no longer see my Mac OS X box
from my Debian linux box (Xandros distribution) and I cannot connect to my OS X box from the
Linux box. I'll try some of the solutions outlined here and see how well it works. Thanks for the
suggestions.

Does anyone else have any other suggestions? I've tried all of the above with no success. It's frustrating when I can connect using Virtual PC and I can't through FINDER on the same machine.
