do i need to use the osx cd that came with the computer to partition the harddrive? need to ad 1 more seperate drive to use as a scratch drive. when i open disk utility, select the mac HD then hit partiion it says it cannot because it contains the boot files or something?

so do i use the CD? i know its gonna delete my stuff but its all backed up on my ipod.
