I have a power mac g4 running jaguar. I have purchased Tiger media. Will the upgrade occur with my jaguar license? I also have a valid license for panther. I work for a university and am able to purchase at a educational discount. The online supplier claims that the upgrade will require the panther license. I have never ran an upgrade, I am just preparing for questions I might have. Any help is appreciated.

There is no liscensing scheme like MS has. NO serial numbers to enter just put the disk in and do the upgrade. I would read the threads on which is the best upgrade option for you. Also remember to back up your stuff.

I have another question if you dont mind. On occasion when I install an app it will go online to get an update, upon installing the update I get questioned to insert my keychain. Apparently this differs from my login password but unfortunately I do not know what I changed it to. For example I installed stuffit and after the install the package automatically went online to get an update. To install the update I am prompted for the keychain. I also have found the keychain location on my mac. It is locked and I cannot unlock it. Is there a way to set it to match my current logon password? If I do the upgrade will my apps still work? I am just not sure what it will affect and how!

The Keychain password SHOULD be the same as your login password. if not you may want to run keychain first aid or something. I forget the name of the program.

You'll have to throw away your keychain (create a new one first, with a password you can remember).
