When I wake my powerbook from sleep I get a dark screen and need to up the brightness using the keyboard to get brightness back. it seems that since using tiger, the laptop turns down its brightness setting during sleep. it doesn't happen every time though.

When the LCD comes back on as normal, oftentimes it come on for a second, then disappears for a second, followed by a blue screen and then the desktop. The process takes around 2-3 seconds before I can work. It seldom just starts immediately the way it used to in 10.3

Any idea of what this could be or where to start troubleshooting?

Thanks

Interesting....
I've found that when unplugging my USB keyboard to go from the desk to roam-mode, and when waking from sleep, my display is either four bars below the maximum if I had it set at maximum when desk-ridden/before-sleep, OR looks fine, but immediately drops to zero when I press the "Brightness Up" key to test it.

Both bugs, new with Tiger.

I would try resetting the PMU. That sounds like a power management problem.
