Hello,
There is a lot of effort underway to come up with a standard for client -> server sharing of calendar, contact, to do, appointment, and other related Groupware-type content. The goal is to be able to replace Exchange and Outlook.
I'm wondering whether you have come across anything interesting that I haven't that speaks to progress within OS X on this front? There are web-based Groupware solutions, but I'm most interested in using Address Book or Entourage to share contacts, and iCal (or maybe Mozilla Sunbird) to share calendar, to do, and appointment data.
Address Book and iCal can already share stuff to a .Mac server. Has anybody gotten these apps to work with a non-.Mac server? Has anybody heard of plug-ins to Address Book/iCal that will add this functionality? Can iCal handle writing to published calendars now? Anybody know of any other interesting OS X projects being worked on?
Edit: whopps... I guess I should have posted this to "Applications"
