One of the machines I help support is trying to connect to a file server at login of one specific user. I'm trying to turn this off, but I can't seem to find the mechanism that's causing it to connect.

What are all the ways you could trigger a connection to a fileserver at login?

I can only think of one guaranteed way and one possible way:

1) Have the share as a start-up item in your User Account. This will definitely make OS X try and mount the share.

2) Not sure, but will this happen if you put an alias to the share in the Finder window?

Yeah, looks like there was an alias to an folder on the share point in the finder sidebar.

Thanks for your help.
