Since I upgraded to Tiger, my powerbook tells me that I don't have the palatino-roman font installed. why?! I did an archive and install, but deleted my archive, as I thought it all went well

Is there any place I can get it to download? A google search was ineffectual.

If you're looking for Apple's Palatino, you can find that with any old Mac OS 9-System 7.x installation. Look in your PowerBook G4 Software DVD for Classic. It's located in the following path:

/Volumes/PowerBook G4 Software/.images/OS9General.dmg

Juts mount that and look for it in the Fonts folder inside System Folder.

Thanks a lot! I was just wondering why I can't find it anywhere since upgrading, not in Suitcase, not anywhere. THX!

Any idea if there's some other fonts missing since Tiger? I think I might have to go though all my OS installation CD's and collect the fonts in one place... The fonts Apple includes with their OS are generally such high quality that I can't bear to think losing them like this. The Palatino, for example, seems to be by Linotype.
