A new student is joining my research group and she has an iBook running 10.1. She likes Tiger and since our institute can pay for her license, I could give her a copy, but she wants to just update, no archive&install, no fresh install, no hassle. I know it would be better to do a clean install or at least an a&i, but she really doesn't want to (these grad students are getting lazier every year ). So, can she do that? Will Tiger update 10.1? Would it also update 10.0?

Tiger is always a full install. It will update everything from at least System 8.6 upwards (since System 8.6 was, IIRC, the oldest OS installable on the oldest piece of Tiger-supported hardware)

...Hey, didn't we already have this conversation?
